Wild Fire Murals

W1 Halloween 2004 by firemind.

I watched the artists paint this wall a few days before Halloween. I didn't have my camera with me. I went back later and photographed everything.

The rear of the building shows some older graffiti.

W4 Scary Dudes by firemind.

I like the detail on these two. To the left is Nosferatu the vampire. To the right is Pennywise the Clown from 'It' (by Stephen King).

W5 Southside by firemind.

The south side of the building has some older murals. I saw the sunflower on the bus and had to check it out.

This is a wonderful collection of murals. They can be seen at Wild Fire Bread and Pastry. 1500 block Quadra Street.

When tourists see the name of the school they often laugh and take a picture.

Faerie

Faerie is close to us.

Knobs by doctor paradox.

Faerie (or Fairyland) is all around us. We just have to find a way there.

It is beautiful...

Themes And Stories

My next few posts will deal with various art themes and stories told in pictures. I will talk more about my art history later.

EMERGE

EMERGE by firemind.

As I developed my skills I began to experiment more. This is one of my favourites. It uses fonts, clipart, painting, and special effects. Most of the work was done in Paint Shop Pro.

Piggy

Piggy by firemind.

The 'snout' texture looked rather piggish so I modified it to make the head. I cut and pasted and warped bits of the texture for the ears, and painted some eyes.

A piggy was born!

Illusionae and Paint Shop Pro again

Butterfly

Butterfly by firemind.

The 'wing' texture caught my eye and I crafted a butterfly from modified textures. Illusionae and Paint Shop Pro.
