Themes And Stories

EMERGE

As I developed my skills I began to experiment more. This is one of my favourites. It uses fonts, clipart, painting, and special effects. Most of the work was done in Paint Shop Pro.

Piggy

The 'snout' texture looked rather piggish so I modified it to make the head. I cut and pasted and warped bits of the texture for the ears, and painted some eyes.

A piggy was born!

This is an example of a heavily modified texture. It was created in Illusionae and then modified in Paint Shop Pro (?).

I made many 'tiles' of this size to use as wallpaper.

I experimented with different art programs. I painted, rendered textures, and had fun. I made many different textures and used special effects to make pictures.

This one wasn't modified at all. It was made in a program called Illusionae.

This was my first big art project on a computer. The black and white clipart came from a cheap CD. I painted it in MS Paint. Artists have to start somewhere.

The original idea comes from sylloge. I borrowed this idea to showcase my favourite pictures. To create a slideshow for my work I created a tag called 'myslideshow' and added it to some pictures.

I am thinking of permanently adding these links to my blog. What do you think?

The Gnome's Home

Sanga by tamaki.

"The River inside the Mountain" made me think of 'In the Hall of the Mountain King' (part of 'Peer Gynt' by Grieg). Then I thought: 'Dwarves like more angular construction that is underground'.

Gnomes in roleplaying games and some myths are more likely to live on the surface. If so, then this is a perfect home for them. It is earthy in both shape and substance.

This would be a good model for someone experimenting in 3D because of the simple, yet powerful, shapes.
